Jurisdiction

   

The Jurisdiction for the Commission is twenty-six counties in the states of Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.  The states are working together to create port facilities to serve the region for economic benefit to the entire area.

As shown in the graphic below, the area is over 13,000 square miles, with the arteries of the Upper Mississippi and the Illinois rivers running through it.  The twenty-six counties have over 480,000 people who will be served by the Mid-America Port.

Commission Jurisdiction

State of Illinois: Adams, Brown, Cass, Hancock, Henderson, Mercer, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, Scott and Warren Counties

State of Iowa: Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Van Buren, and Wapello Counties

State of Missouri: Clark, Knox, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Ralls, Scotland, and Shelby Counties

District Jurisdiction

  Adams, Brown, Cass, Hancock, Henderson, Mercer, Morgan, Pike Schuyler, Scott and Warren Counties in Illinois
